After a long hike in nature, there’s nothing quite as welcoming as the enchanting sound of cascading waterfalls, inviting the tired traveller in for a dip. The KwaZulu-Natal South Coast is overflowing with scenic waterfalls waiting to be explored.
Nyandezulu Waterfall
This beautiful 80m high waterfall, unknown to the public at large, is a true hidden gem that is currently being developed as a community based tourism project. The hike to Nyandezulu Falls does require getting knee deep into the river a number of times, but you’ll be in awe once in proximity to the falls and can then discover the peace and tranquilly that this natural phenomena brings.
KwaXolo Caves
This Panoramic view site, with a waterfall is home to historical San rock paintings dating back centuries. The Hike has been attached with a harness 300m to the caves. Pack a picnic or braai and spend some valuable time with family and friends, unwinding in nature.

Hoepoe Falls
The perfect leisurely trail for those whose interests lie more in the destination than the journey itself. Although in saying that, the journey is still quite exquisite. Hoepoe Falls, situated in the breathtaking Oribi Gorge, is a fair distance shorter than your average waterfall trail. Follow along the river, surrounded by sandstone cliffs, and discover the serenity of great tranquility without breaking too much of a sweat.
